Julie Gass, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma started her riding career at the age of 7. She was privileged to participate in local riding programs through her junior years that allowed her to work with nationally know clinicians such as Holly Hugo Vidal and Ronnie Mutch. She received numerous wins and year-end titles riding in the Equitation and Hunter Divisions on her horse "Smart Talk" and also on "Go for the Bux". A professional since 1994, Julie has trained at BBW Stables with her husband Michael who is a successful race horse trainer. She also managed Sorghum Mill Farms from 1998 to 2003. During that time she trained, rode and won multiple Year-End titles with her horses "Silent Pass", "Choose to Cruise", and "Imperial Glory" in the Go Hunter-Jumper Association in the Baby-Green, Pre-Green, and Green Working Hunter Divisions. Over the years her students have won many Year-End Championships ranging from Long and Short Stirrup to the Beginner and Intermediate Divisions. Julie trains and teaches at Cadence where she has a passion for instructing and advancing her students in the hunter-jumper show ring. In addition, she uses her degree in education as a school teacher at Will Rogers Elementary School.
Renee Leggett comes to Cadence from Oronogo, Missouri, where she was the trainer at Leggett Performance Horses. Her love of horses started at a young age and she hasn’t left the saddle since. She began her career in horses showing lead-line and since then has progressed to show in all-around events in the Quarter Horse and Appaloosa circuits. She has received numerous all-around awards as well as performance championships from each circuit. Now she has moved from earning the awards herself to see her students progress and to hopefully have the same dreams and ambitions that she had as a youth. While competing as a youth, Renee trained with top trainers including Lynn Palm, Cyril Pittion-Rosillion, and Ryan Painter. Renee currently has clients in both the Quarter Horse and Paint Associations. She loves to watch her students go from learning how to ride, to purchasing their first horse, to becoming successful on the show circuits. Along with earning all-around awards, she finds the thrill even greater to earn awards on horses that she has trained herself. She has trained her own horses and has even gained the trust from her horse to be able to ride bridleless. Renee’s specialty is the all-around events, from hunter under saddle to western pleasure, from showmanship to halter. Her knowledge of horses does not end in the saddle because she led her team to a third place finish in the state in FFA horse judging, and has been recruited to compete in Intercollegiate Judging as well. She is an instructor in the Cadence Equestrian Center Riding Academy and is also a student at Oklahoma State University, double-majoring in Agribusiness and Animal Science.
